How to take correct measurements
For maximum medical effectiveness, use a flexible measuring tape. Measure the circumference of the ankle (narrowest point), the calf (widest point), and, if necessary, the thigh.
When
In the morning right after waking up, when the legs are not swollen and are rested.
Position
Standing upright, with feet firmly planted on the ground.
Tools
Use a flexible measuring tape. It must adhere to the skin but not squeeze.
EXACT MEASUREMENT POINTS
- 1 Ankle (cB): Measure at the narrowest point, about 1 cm above the malleolus.
- 2 Calf (cC): Measure at the widest part (maximum circumference).
- 3 Thigh (cF/cG): Mid-thigh (cF) or 5cm below the groin at the widest point (cG).
- L Length: From the heel to behind the knee (for Knee-highs) or up to 5cm below the buttocks (for Hold-ups/Tights).
