How to wash socks the right way?
Silca tights and hold-ups are extremely delicate garments. Even though they are made with the highest quality yarns, they require specific care to maintain their elasticity and beauty over time.
Hand washing: the best choice
This is the most suitable method to ensure the garment lasts as long as possible. Simply soak the stockings in cold water with a mild detergent for 15 minutes, gently massaging them (especially in the foot area) and rinsing under running water.
The secret to drying
Always avoid direct sunlight and tumble drying. The experts' trick? Lay the stockings on a towel, roll it up gently to absorb the moisture, and leave it in a dry place. Your tights will be ready in a couple of hours.
Machine washing: the golden rules
If you prefer using a washing machine, follow these fundamental precautions to avoid fraying:
- Protection: Place the stockings (turned inside out) in a laundry mesh bag.
- Temperature: Never exceed 30°C.
- Cycle: Exclude the spin cycle or set it to the lowest speed.
- Detergents: Use only products for delicate garments, without bleach.
Graduated compression stockings must never be exposed to harsh heat sources (such as radiators), as thermal stress can damage the elastic yarn and reduce its therapeutic effectiveness.
